Bronze BX

BX Centre

Your Speaker

For the BX Centre we've demolished the limitations of entry-level design by creating a speaker that reproduces voice with unfailing detail and accuracy. Its system of twin 140mm (5 1/2") C-CAM® drivers and 25mm (1") C-CAM® tweeter complements the driver architecture of other BX series speakers, to create a wide and detailed front sound-stage, characterised by pin-point imaging.

Features

  • Versatile 2-way loudspeaker perfect for on-wall applications, stereo or surround.
  • Dual 5 1/2" C-CAM® drivers and single 1" C-CAM® tweeter are pitched perfectly for accurate dialogue.
  • Acoustically matched with all other BX loudspeakers for precise surround sound imaging and consistent timbre front to back.
  • Single bolt-through drivers.  A design feature which means the driver is not fixed to the front baffle and cannot transmit vibrations and therefore colouration to the cabinet.
  • Improved cabinet rigidity and stability.
  • HiVe®II port technology to speed the transit of air from the cabinet, resulting in more dynamic bass.
  • High-quality terminal panels blend easy access with high-end functionality.
  • Choice of four high quality vinyl wood finishes.

Technology

C-CAM® Drivers

C-CAM® Drivers

Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium is a material originally developed by the aerospace industry for jet engine components. Its properties are ideal for loudspeaker cones being extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. In manufacture, aluminium/magnesium alloy undergoes a three-stage stress-relieving process to remove surface deformation and molecular weakness. Once formed, the alloy cone is subjected to a high temperature anodic coating process in which a layer of pure ceramic alumina is depleted onto its surfaces to a depth of 50 microns, producing a completely rigid sandwich of alloy and heat-dissipating ceramic material.

Conventional cones are liable to flex or twist in operation, producing a significant level of audible distortion. C-CAM cones have a much higher resistance to bending stress and therefore exhibit much greater fidelity over their entire operating range. C-CAM tweeters and woofers share an audible consistency producing a smooth transition of frequencies and a sense of realism and cohesion in the soundstage.

Gold Dome C-CAM®

Gold Dome C-CAM®

The gold dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy, gold anodised to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modelling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. The new design moves the first order of breakup to beyond 35kHz, producing a linear response way beyond audibility, which matches the wide frequency bandwidth available from HD music and cinema sound formats.

The gold dome is thinner, lighter, more rigid and therefore more efficient than domes made from other materials which are prone to distortion in the audio band.

excellent range for a small center. nice tight bass and vocals during movies is excellent at all volume levels. Great bargain.. stands up to many speakers twice the price

I have used these for my front and center setup. And they blow away most systems out there. You might think the range on the center doesn't go low enough to be front speakers but you would be wrong, because there are two drivers moving air at the same time. And when you stand it upright you get like a line array effect. Much use in most pa systems nowadays. And the fact that the cab is sealed you get a much more puncher tight pattern bass that travels a lot further. In fact the further you sit back, the better the low end gets. I made them set up all kind of speakers in my super fi, before I took these babies home. Plus they don't stick out too far past my led. And they look damn good with the grilles off. hope this helped you
