The versatile BX-FX dual-mode surround speaker adds the facility to switch dispersion for side or rear channel use, allowing the BX-FX to optimise five or seven channel systems. Utilising a single 140mm (5 1/2") C-CAM® bass/mid-range driver flanked by two 25mm (1") C-CAM® tweeters on angled baffles, the super-compact BX-FX is easy to position for amazing surround effects and is available in the BX range of finishes for a closer décor blend.

C-CAM® Drivers

C-CAM® Drivers

Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium is a material originally developed by the aerospace industry for jet engine components. Its properties are ideal for loudspeaker cones being extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. In manufacture, aluminium/magnesium alloy undergoes a three-stage stress-relieving process to remove surface deformation and molecular weakness. Once formed, the alloy cone is subjected to a high temperature anodic coating process in which a layer of pure ceramic alumina is depleted onto its surfaces to a depth of 50 microns, producing a completely rigid sandwich of alloy and heat-dissipating ceramic material.

Conventional cones are liable to flex or twist in operation, producing a significant level of audible distortion. C-CAM cones have a much higher resistance to bending stress and therefore exhibit much greater fidelity over their entire operating range. C-CAM tweeters and woofers share an audible consistency producing a smooth transition of frequencies and a sense of realism and cohesion in the soundstage.

Gold Dome C-CAM®

The gold dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy, gold anodised to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modelling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. The new design moves the first order of breakup to beyond 35kHz, producing a linear response way beyond audibility, which matches the wide frequency bandwidth available from HD music and cinema sound formats.

The gold dome is thinner, lighter, more rigid and therefore more efficient than domes made from other materials which are prone to distortion in the audio band.

    I am honoured to leave a message on your official site.
    My name is Lawrence, I'm 34, and I have just received a BX setup for my birthday.
    I have known your brand for a few years, and every time that I was lucky enough to listen [to your products] I said that one day I will have Monitor Audio in my living room!
    Unfortunately at the time, I could not allow myself to purchase them. So I waited...
    The BX series allowed me to achieve this goal.. Mission accomplished for two reasons.
    The first one is that this series is still at an affordable price.
    The second and most important in my eyes (ears??), Is that it sounds divinely! What musicality at this price!
    Everything is here! The low end is now mastered, mediums velvet, and the twirling highs are never aggressive ... Pure happiness!
    Electronically soft and well made, I finally found it warm and friendly as I expected, with a formidable momentum.
    I really have listened to everything for more than thirty years (thank you Dad), and these speakers fly.
    Flawless finish, undoubtedly mastered technology, the BX series deserves some attention.
    When my friends listen they are still speechless, they do not lose a thing!
    I had the opportunity to listen to the RX and GX series, and there... I actually wept with emotion.... Maybe one day I can access this "purely made" music... but it's not tomorrow...
    I never lose an opportunity to brag about my equipment and eavesdroppers are always convinced!
